Spring is FINALLY in the air!

Spring is FINALLY in the air!

The dogwoods and azaleas are beginning to bloom, peaches will soon be in season, and Braves fans across the state are getting out their war paint; that must mean the weather has turned and spring has arrived in Georgia!

Spring in the Peach State means mild temperatures, and an abundance of festivals, food, and fun – and everyone is OK with that.

What are you looking forward to this spring? Here are some of our favorite spring events in and around Marietta, GA.

Put a spring in your step with these seasonal events

Marietta Easter Egg Hunt at Laurel Park 6:30 pm on Friday, March 18, 2016

The annual Easter Egg Scramble is a great bonus event for the family, taking place on the Friday night before Easter. For the little ones, you can think of it as a dress rehearsal for the family egg hunt that will inevitably occur two days later, and for the adults it is a great “pre-game”.

If you want to turn Easter into a three-day event, join us Saturday morning for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Custer Park Sport and Fitness Center.

2016 Taste of Marietta Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 11 am to 7 pm

This annual event takes place on Sunday, April 24, in the Marietta Square. Over 75 restaurants take to the streets to sample their tasty delights to the crowds. There will be concerts from five different music stages, games, and of course lots of delicious food. Sign me up!!!

Numismatics definition image

Greater Atlanta Coin Show Mar 13, Apr 10, May 15, Jun 12

Numismatics? I’m not quite sure what that word means exactly, except that the greatest trade show for coins, metals, currency, and other collectables will be here throughout the year. There will be vendors aplenty so that you may browse, sell, or trade, regardless of your experience level in this hobby. Oh look, shiny baubles!

Menopause The Musical April 01, 2016 – April 03, 2016

Remember that time that Aunt Marjorie was staring into the empty tub of ice cream wondering what was wrong with her life and then burst into flame? It’s good that we can all laugh about it now.

Menopause the Musical is a wonderfully hilarious celebration of women and “the change”. Featuring a quartet of female stars, this parody is set to music with 25 songs about chocolate cravings, sex, and hot flashes.

Yaarab Shrine Circus May 15 – May 25, 2015

Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh My! The biggest circus in North America is coming to town. Be there, at the square, or be square, because if you are not a-round then you must be square (I’m doing it wrong).

Marietta Greek Festival May 15-17, 2015

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Why was Alexander the Great able to steamroll one-quarter of the world? Not because of the phalanx, but because gyros are absolutely delicious! This enormous festival will have gyros up the golo, as well as baklava, chocolate baklava, galatoboureko, kourabiethes, koulourakia, rizogalo, karithopita, diples, floyeres, kataifi, and Greek cream puffs. I’m not sure what most of those are, but judging by the context they must be nóstima.

It’s YOUR Life; Enjoy It

Spring is a time of change and transformation. The barren trees become full of color, dull scenery becomes a lush landscape, and two bunnies turn into two-hundred, seemingly overnight!

Spring is a great time to think about what positive changes you want to make in your life that will help you enjoy it to the fullest.
