5 Reasons to Pursue a New Career

Having a Pediatric Dental Assisting School, I meet many different people who have been ready for a career change when they came to me.

Many times, the individuals I meet already have a love for working with kids.

They are stay-at-home moms or dads, or single parents looking for better work. They are nannies, wanting a career they can grow in. Or perhaps young students wanting a good job to pay their student loans.

In all of these cases, there are common signs that I want to outline in this blog. If any of this is familiar, perhaps you should explore a change in your career.

  1. Pediatric Dental Assistant School Job DissatisfactionJob Dissatisfaction

The first and most obvious sign that you need a new career is simply that you are unhappy in your current one. Life is too short to spend the majority of it in a dead end job that you don’t enjoy.

  1. Well Trained but No Jobs

You went to school and got trained in a specific field but there aren’t any jobs available? This is a common complaint in the workforce right now. Going to school for a job that has a growing demand for workers will make finding work so much easier for you. Dental assisting is a growing industry.

  1. Not Enough MoneyPediatric Dental Assistant School Money

If you’re barely scraping by with what you make, it might be time for a new career. Not getting paid what you deserve can lead to resentment and overall dissatisfaction with your job.

  1. Great Work Ethic

This one is a classic and I see it all too often. Many times, an individual in a job they don’t like will slump into doing just enough to get by but not really working as hard as they can and should. But when they find other work, they are focused, precise, and efficient. If you know that you can work hard but just lack the motivation, then your job isn’t inspiring the best from you.

  1. Excited for Change

If you are reading this and starting to get excited about changing jobs, then it’s probably clear to you now that you aren’t in the right career. There’s no good reason to stay, and typically fear is the only thing keeping someone at that desk or in that uniform. So let the excitement push you to step out of your comfort zone and risk a little in hope of a professional career that you will love for decades.
